On Thursday December 5th Scoil Dara held its awards day where past and present students were formally recognised for their wonderful academic achievements. We were delighted to hear past student Oisín Fagan speak to senior students …. so easy to see why the Irish Times refers to him as “the best new writer in Ireland”. Well done to all recipients and thanks to Ms Butler for organising the events.

Our talented senior girls team who put in an outstanding 2nd half performance yesterday in a bid for 3 out of 3. It just wasn’t to be on the day but you all did your school very proud.
Debating
Scoil Dara is super proud of This amazing crew. Huge congratulations to Ms Butler & the wonderful team on their win tonight against Ardscoil Rathangan on the motion ‘The EU needs an Army’. Great speeches all round .. what a journey we have had with this team.
Shoe Box Appeal
Alex O’ Gorman, Katie Mahon and 1F who collected the most shoe boxes in Scoil Dara for Team Hope, 99 in total!! Rumour has a pizza party awaits you all, well done to all.
Marshmallow Challenge
5th year students competing in the annual ‘Marshmallow Challenge’ & the ladies who won it in style.
Student Council
Well done to the Student Council & Ms Doyle…raising money for the Father Peter McVerry Trust with a Christmas Jumper Fundraiser and they organised and collected food items for the St. Vincent de Paul, well done to everyone who donated, such an amazing response to both worthy causes.

Rachel Smyth Graduates from DCU
The Scoil Dara community would like to pass on our congratulation to past student Rachael Smyth who graduated with a BSc in Science Ed from DCU. She received ASTI award for Excellence in Teaching based on receiving the highest grade awarded for her final school placement.

Choir ….on tour
What a busy time the Choir had last term in addition to keeping the whole school community rocking, they were busy singing in the annual Christmas Carl Service in Kilcock,Tallaght Hospital, entertaining the staff at Musgrave’s Ireland , Travelling to Grafton Street and Heuston and all to raise money for Focus Ireland , Ms O Conoor , Ms Kennedy and all involved were definitely on Santas good list having raised over 1300 euro , well done to all.

Well done to all our first years who participated in our annual Gymnastics Competition. Fantastic talent, effort and creativity shown by all the groups and congratulations to our 3rd, 2nd and 1st place winners of the first year Gymnastics Competition!

The LCA class spend a brilliant day , seeing what’s possible in the future visiting Crumlin and Dunboyne college open day.

Congrats to all TY enterprise students on a fantastic Christmas fair and to the Community Care classes who organised the raffle in aid of Irish Cancer Society. Thanks to all students and staff who supported both.
Well done to the Library Prefects
