1st Year Book Box – Reading Initiative
“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies . . . The man who never reads lives only one.” – George R.R. Martin
We take huge pride in our school library here in the Presentation. Unfortunately, this year Covid rules & guidelines have forced us to close our library doors for now…. but fear not!! A new reading initiative is on the way…the 1st Year Book Box! 100 BRAND NEW books have been purchased for our 1st year students. Each class will receive their own book box with books ranging from beginner to intermediate to advanced! Each student will receive a library card to keep a record of how many books they read throughout the year The books have been labeled, covered in contact film and are now sitting untouched for the recommended 72 hours before being made available to students. With titles from the esteemed Sir Michael Morpurgo, Darren Shan, Eoin Colfer and many more, there are 16 new titles for our first years to choose from.
- Green sticker books – beginner level
- Yellow sticker books – intermediate level
- Red sticker books – advanced level
