Coláiste Bríde Presentatation Secondary School celebrated the offical opening of their new school building on Friday May 9th 2008.

The ceremony commenced with a presentation on the history of the school. The school’s Deputy Principal, Steve McEntagert, welcomed all guests, which included Minister for Health, Mary Harney, to the offical opening of the school.

This was followed by a liturgy led by Fr Damian Farnon, who is the School Chaplain. Bernardine Nic Giolla Phádraig introduced speeches from the following people at the ceremony:

Mr Eddie O’Connor, Chairperson, Board of Management, Sr. Claude Meagher, Provincial Leader of the Presentation Sisters, South-East Province, Amy Jenkins, Head Girl, Coláiste Bríde, Minister Mary Harney, Sr. Margarita Ryan, former principal of Coláiste Bríde, and Ms Marie-Thérese Kilmartin, Principal, Coláiste Bríde.

Coláiste Bríde also ran 3 concurrent events on the day, which included an Organic Garden Development Project, Tours of the School Building, and a Concert in the School courtyard.

The ceremony finished with refreshements in the School Canteen.
