The Liturgical Choir of the Diocese of Augsburg to perform as part of the Sligo/ Kempten Town Twinning in June
The Liturgical Choir of the Diocese of Augsburg will visit Sligo next week under the auspices of Sligo/ Kempten Town Twinning. The choir will sing Evensong at St Patrick’s Church , Moylough, Tubbercurry at 7 pm on Friday 28th June and they will also sing at the 11 am Mass in Sligo Dominican Friary on Sunday 30th June. The choir is in existence for 56 years and is conducted by founder member Hans Jurgen Thiemer. The choir has performed throughout Europe and in the Ukraine and Namibia. This is their first visit to Ireland and to Kempten’s twin town of Sligo. They are photographed here outside the St Laurence Basilica in Kempten, Allgau. They will also give a lunchtime concert in St Patrick’s Cathedral Dublin on Wednesday 26th June at 1 pm.
