In Scoil Bhríde, Mercy, Tuam, Co.Galway, we held the Inaugural Mercy Eurovision in school on Tuesday 15th May, with some highly- polished hosting by our Transition Year girls. The languages used were Irish, German, French and Lámh, which is a sign language used by some of our students and learnt by many of them.
The judges were Mrs Murphy and Ms. Connaughton. We had a winning plaque for each of these four languages. There was a lot of good-humoured competition in the Concert Hall among all the participants.
Rang Réalta and friends won the Lámh plaque, an tUasal O Mainín’s Rang Aisling won the Irish plaque, Ms. Lynch’s 2nd years won the German plaque and Mrs. McMahon’s 1st years won the French plaque.
Thanks to all who took part and supported. We had a lot of fun.
