CEIST schools have made the headlines for Gaelic Football recently with some noteworthy achievements.
Our Lady’s Secondary School Templemore
Our Lady’s Secondary School, Templemore, Co. Tipperary had a fantastic win in the All Ireland Post-Primary Schools senior A hurling championship on Saturday 25th March in Semple Stadium, Thurles.
Our Lady’s Templemore (pictured above after their great win) defeated St. Kieran’s College, Kilkenny in a pulsating final on a scoreline of 3-13 to 3-11.
St. Kieran’s were going for four in a row and it was the first All Ireland title since 1978 for Our Lady’s who have now added the Croke cup to the Harty cup won earlier in the year!
CEIST Schools Contest All Ireland Colleges ‘C’ Football Final
Two CEIST schools contested the All Ireland ‘C’ Colleges Football final on Sunday 26th March in Moate, Co. Westmeath.
Scoil Mhuire, Strokestown,Co. Roscommon (pictured above) defeated Presentation De La Salle College, Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow (pictured below) on a scoreline of 1-14 to 2-9.
Congrats to Scoil Mhuire on their great win and commiserations to a gallant Presentation De La Salle College, Bagenalstown team who gave their all and great achievement to win Leinster and reach All Ireland final.
Presentation Secondary School Thurles
Huge Congrats to the ladies on the Presentation Secondary School, Thurles, Co. Tipperary Senior Football team who beat Holy Faith Clontarf in the Lidl All Ireland Schools Final on Sunday in O’Moore Park, Portlaoise on a scoreline of 4-11 to 2-10.
Casey Hennessy is photographed above with her Player of the match award after scoring 2-4.
