Our CEIST Annual Conference was another great success.
Over the two days which it was held we had CEIST members from all over the county attend.
To begin the Conference attendees had the opportunity to play Golf at the Athlone Golf Club or enjoy a leisurely Lake Cruise on Lough Ree with the famous Viking Mike.
The Highlights of the first day of the conference included a lovely Mass service by Bishop Paul Connell.
This was also accompanied by the talented vocals of the Choir from Coláiste Abhainn Rí, Callan, Co. Kilkenny.
After the Mass CEIST CEO Gerry McGuill warmly welcomed everyone who gathered and gave an opening address.
Following this was an incredibly interesting address Keynotes Speaker for the day Barbara Coupar who is the Director of the Scottish Catholic Education Service.
The CEIST Chairperson Maeve Mahon finished the first day by speaking to the audience.
The Second day of the conference began with four workshops that the various
attendees where able to choose from.
After a light break we then had the pleasure of hearing from Bernie McNally the Secretary General of the Department of Education and listening to her insights on education.
Our own Rob Halford, CEIST Director of Education, gave a very interesting speech.
The Day finished when we had the privilege of listing to Ardscoil Mhuire’s Choir beautiful singing talents.
