The students were then involved in workshops in correlation with the WMOF. In the afternoon Reverend Phillip Mulryne former Man Utd Player gave the students a fantastic speech about his life journey. He spoke how he played for the famous team from the age of 14 alongside popular players like David Beckham, Eric Cantona and managed by Alex Ferguson. His life changed when he injured his leg that stopped his soccer career, from where he then started to consider the priesthood. So many interesting stories he gave from owning a Ferrari car to having to borrow a car. The students thoroughly enjoyed the trip and have been inspired by the leaders that spoke today and the workshops they took part in. Thanks to CEIST and St Pats College for organising the event.
Dr. Marie Griffin CEIST CEO and Professor Daire Keogh kindly welcomed us all to the conference. Representations of 76 schools attended the event. This was followed by an address and Blessing from Dr Diarmuid Martin Archbishop of Dublin who also gave an inspirational speech and talked about his life journey to date. David Kennedy from the World Meeting of Families (WMOF) spoke to the students about the possibility of a Pope Visit to Dublin in August.
