St. Leo’s College Open Evening

St. Leos Open Evening Ambassadors assembled in reception before open evening commenced last Thursday

On Thursday 26th of September St. Leo’s College was delighted to open its doors to prospective students and their families. Every subject area was represented and allowed incoming students to gather information about St. Leo’s ethos, facilities, programs and curricula. Open evening is a valuable opportunity for parents and guardians to explore the campus most particularly our new hockey pitch which was floodlit for the evening.

There were vibrant music and stage performances showcasing the many opportunities for students to develop their performance skills. Our gym and new hockey pitch hosted just a selection of the many sporting activities available in St. Leo’s College. The school library was a hive of activity. Our public speaking, debating, language clubs and many more were represented on the night.

A sincere thank you to the staff who provided demonstrations and activities in classrooms/labs and kitchens. A huge thank you to our 150 strong team of student tour guides who chaperoned prospective first years and their families around our school.

The Open Evening concluded with a display of music and dance in the school Gym and principal, Ms. Niamh Broderick delivered the principal’s address which reflected on the ethos and values of a Mercy school in the Ceist tradition and what it means to be a student in St. Leo’s College, Carlow. She also advised that applications by prospective students will be accepted from Tuesday 1st October to Tuesday 22nd October 2024.
