Swimming Success
Congratulations to Presentation College Askea’s student Rory Keely on his success at the St. Fiacc’s Swimming Gala in Kildare on Sunday 21st Jan, which was attended by 12 other swimming clubs from around the country.
Rory Keely won a gold medal for coming 1st in the 50m Breaststroke and won a bronze medal for coming 3rd in the 100m Breaststroke.
National Lions Club Young Ambassador of the Year Final 2023-24
On Sunday 21st January Keeva impressed the judges with her presentation and work she has done to support Cliona’s Foundation. This an Irish based charity that provides help to families who are dealing with a financial crisis while caring for a child with a life limiting illness. Keeva and her family have put countless hours and creative energy in to a huge range of initiatives to support the work being done. The prize money that is awarded to Keeva as part of the title will be split evenly between Cliona’s Foundation and the rest will be used as a seed fund to encourage the development of other youth lead initiatives to support engagement with local charities.
Keeva will now represent Ireland in Birmingham in February. She will also take part in an exchange programme over the summer coordinated through the Lions Club and in October Keeva will represent Ireland in the European Lions Club Young Ambassador Finals.
