We are all really looking forward to hosting our Student Leadership Gathering on Wednesday March 23rd from 9:30am to 11am on our theme of “Looking forward with positivity and taking all the learnings from COVID in to our new normal”.
While we are disappointed not to be able to have an in-person Student Conference, we are confident that this is the correct decision given the rising Covid numbers again and the paramount importance of everyone’s health and safety.
We are delighted to be joined by Archbishop Dermot Farrell who will bestow a blessing and address the students at the beginning of the Gathering and are especially pleased that Minister for Education Norma Foley will also join the Gathering with a special message for our students. Emer Neville, President of the Irish Second-Level Students Union, will share her experiences with us which will be particularly interesting as her term of office coincided with much of Covid. We will also welcome former CEIST FLG Co-ordinator, Kate Liffey, who will focus on the theme of the Gathering with positivity and optimism. We will also have input from students around the country.
Music will be provided by Traditional Group from Coláiste Muire, Ballymote with their beautiful musical arrangement of “Tabhair Dom Do Láimh” and a most wonderful rendition of “May the Road Rise to Meet You” by the 6th Year Choir from Mercy Secondary School, Mounthawk.
