Wellbeing Advent Calendar
As part of tutor time Class Aisling and their tutor Ms. K. Diver have begun to mark the advent season with an advent wellbeing calendar. A beautiful way to get involved and be part of the advent season.
TY Paramedic Visit
Damien Bradley, past pupil visited the College to speak to our TY groups and to deliver the simple message, ‘Your safety is in Your hands’.
Damien talked to them about the dangers of speeding, mobile phone use, alcohol and drugs and the importance of having a mature attitude and being able to make responsible choices for their own road safety. We thank Damien for his continued support and guidance on this important issue.
Upcycling
Well done to the transition year students and their teacher Ms. Mc Mullin who upcycled jeans into aprons. First year students model T-shirts they embellished using tie-dye and TY students got creative too using waste fabrics to make a banner reflecting school life in 2020. Well done to all involved and to their teacher Ms. Gately.
Home Economics
Well done to the TY students and their teacher Ms. Mc Mullin on creating these fabulous Christmas pudding cookies.

Congratulations to 5th year Donal who successfully organised the 2nd year Pentathlon for their Leisure & Recreation task. A total of 156 second year students enjoyed a fun morning participating in challenges spread out over our new Astro turf Pitch, grass pitches & Sports-hall. Thank you to Mr. Mc Ginley, Finn Harps goalkeeper & Charlie Byrne Derry city keeper for putting the pressure on during the penalty shootout. Well done to all involved.
Stand Up Week
We, as a school community had our own ‘Stand Up’ in support of LGBTI+ students.
Staff and students stood together for one minute as the following words from John Hume were read:
Difference is the essence of humanity; it is an accident of birth and it should therefore never be the source of hatred or conflict. The answer to difference is to respect it. Therein lies a most fundamental principle of peace; respect for diversity. In the current climate there are many things that you have complete control over: your perspective, your thoughts, how kind you’ll be; what you’ll stand for, what you won’t stand for; how you treat other people; how you treat your own self; your reactions, your attitude, your words…..
Decorating the school for Christmas
Thanks to our TY students who have painted the windows around the college and decorated Christmas trees creating a festive atmosphere.
