We are delighted to be hosting “The Chaser” on Thursday April 2nd at 8pm in the school hall. This promises to be a fantastic night’s entertainment for all the family. We urge you all to come along and who knows maybe you could be the one to beat “The Chaser.” We are raising much needed funds to continue the development of the ICT department and establish a library within the school. Mr. John Leahy addresses 6th year students
Former Tipperary County hurler, now Drug Education Officer with the HSE, Mr. John Leahy gave a most powerful and informative presentation to our 6th year students on the current rise in drug use and abuse. John’s calm and reasoned delivery was engaging as he outlined recent statistics whilst providing a forum where students could ask questions. He also dispelled some myths in relation to the use of cannabis and explained to students that they will undoubtedly find themselves in situations when they will be faced with a choice, as to whether or not to succumb to the temptation to engage in recreational drugs. John also highlighted the link that exists between alcohol use and drug use and encouraged students not to fall victim to an activity that has the potential to destroy their lives. John will return later in the year to address our Junior Cycle students.
